The 7 Steps to Meditation


Meditation is a pivotal part of manifesting your desires into reality.

Meditation is one of the Keys. 
7 STEPS TO MEDITATION
  • Here are the steps to meditation:  I assure you will notice results almost immediately! 

    To meditate you will be repeating a mantra in your mind.
    It can be: OM, or SO-HUM, I don’t recommend English words such as: Peace, or Love, because even positive words will invoke memories that will take you away from your mantra.  Begin with 10 minutes  and work your way up to 20-30 minutes each and every day!!! (Pages 259 - 277 of Yogini’s Guide - Intuition Is A Choice by Candace McKim)

    1. Get yourself and your environment comfortable, warm and without distractions. Set a timer on your phone so you won't think at all about how long you've been at it. Begin with 10 minutes, but add 5 min on the timer for relaxation and to settle in. You can add ritual here if you like e.g. light a candle, set up an alter(Page 297), look at an inspiring image or statue or bring nature into your space. 

    2. Sit in a chair or supported seat. (if you lie down you're more apt to fall asleep). Cover with a blanket (your body temperature will lower in relaxation), 

    3. Take yourself through some relaxation. Begin with a few deep, cleansing breaths, then consciously relax each of your body parts. Start at you toes, feet, ankles, legs, back, shoulders, arms, hands. Relax your neck, mouth, cheeks, eyes, brow and scalp...feel completely relaxed from head to toe. 

    4. Begin to focus on your breath. At this point you may wish to ask spirit for some inspiration or answers. Eg. “Spirit show me what I need to know.”  Connecting to your breath...Note in your mind inhale as you inhale, and exhale as you exhale. 

    5. Next add your mantra in with your breath. As you inhale repeat in your mind SO and as your exhale say in your mind HUM. Other Mantras do not link to your breath.

    6. Notice when your mind wanders and you start to think about other things, immediately bring your mind back onto the mantra. SO-HUM. This will continue to happen throughout the entire process. WHEN (not if) your mind wanders keep bringing it back to the mantra. 

    7. When the timer goes, take a few deep breaths bringing your awareness back, you are done!  Feel a sense of gratitude that your life has given you the awareness and opportunity to do this for yourself and your family.
